Hello, team. My name is Darren Henao. I was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and grew up in a small blueberry town called Hammonton also in New Jersey. I played soccer and wrestled for my high school team and spent time with my peers during those years. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and earned a Master's in Social Work from Eastern University. 

I lived in Japan for seven years, where I met my wife. We have a six-year-old son named Darren Jr. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, walking, and watching television. I love watching my son grow up more than anything and trying to be the best father I can be.

For about 20 years, I have worked as a bilingual mental health counselor in various settings, including crisis intervention, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and both inpatient and outpatient clinics. Throughout my career, I've learned that anyone's life can change with a tiny unexpected event. My faith, trust, and motivation in working with people have helped me become someone clients and coworkers can rely on. I genuinely look forward to being part of this journey with you.
